Spotify Launches New Feature ‘Spotify Party’

What is Spotify Party exactly you ask? Spotify’s newly launched feature seems them try and tap into the party playlisting listener demographic by allowing Spotify users to select curated Spotify playlists by music industry professionals. The first one so far is a 120 track behemoth tailored to a wide range of specific moods curated by none other than Diplo. Not that impressed? Don’t worry, Spotify promises us that there are more curators coming through the pipeline in the near future.

As mentioned earlier, Spotify Party gives you the ability to both pick the right sort of music for a party, be it a pop party, hip hop party or whatnot – but also adjust the vibe of the music to fit the party’s energy. Spotify Party features a kind of dial that allows users to switch the music’s energy level. If it’s coming to cleanup time at your next house party feel free to tone the energy level down some to reminds guests to either grab or mop or start leaving. Big crowd just walk in? Get ready to turn up with some higher energy music!

Party music curation is no easy talk and Diplo will tell you all about it.

“When it comes to throwing parties you simply have to have the right playlists – or everyone will leave, and while researching and picking out music is fun, it also takes a lot of time and effort. With Spotify Party, you’re served with loads of beat-matched music that transitions perfectly, which you can easily adapt to whatever your current vibe is. Best of all, you don’t have to do any of the legwork.”

Starting today, Spotify Party will be available to Android and iOS mobile users with the service slowly being rolled out to subscribers.
