Felix Cartal’s latest single “Something To Live For,” the debut track off of his upcoming album, has received its own mini-album by way of an official remix EP from Universal Music Canada that features seven different producers.
While you can stream the entire remix EP below via Spotify, I’ve picked out three of my favourites to share with you all.
The first comes from local Toronto DJ with probably one of the coolest names in the industry, Internet Daughter. From bedroom producer to opening for the likes of Baaeur, Hudson Mohawke, and Slander come 2016, the internet savvy producer has been a big part of bringing the LA future bass and trap sound to Toronto.

From Atlanta-duo Halogen comes a remix which sees “Something To Live For” reimagined as a deep, house track. While it retains a lot of the ‘Halogen-esque’ elements from their remix catalogue, this interpretation sees them go deeper than usual with the perfect amount of funk. Perfect for the dance floor and surprisingly good for the gym.

Finally, I’ve picked out Vanrip’s remix to round out my mini trio, as it showcases just how diverse this EP really is. The pitched vocals, electro elements and dirty drop make this remix the edgiest of the bunch while doing a great job of both retaining the emotional content of the original mix and showcasing the ‘lighter’ side of future house.
