This year has been one for the books, especially when it comes to just about every release that came off of the powerhouse UK label, Toolroom Records. They’ve already capped off 2015 with an excellent compilation showcasing some of the years biggest hits, and now their ready to get you hyped for 2016 with a brand new, 50-track album ‘This Is Toolroom 2016′.
Yet again, Toolroom didn’t fail to disappoint, featuring a plethora of songs you’ll be listening to all next year, one of which is Weiss’s “Get Em Funk”. It’s always exciting to listen to this guy because you never quite know what sample he’s gonna pull out and flip into a wonderful and gritty house jam. Another great tune is Claude VonStroke’s remix of Catz N’ Dogz original, “Get It Right”. Meshing the ambiance of a guitar and organ with perfect vocal chops, VonStroke leaves you hooked the entire six minutes.
As usual, Toolroom provides a wide variety of house music on this album, featuring a sizzling tune from Chus & Ceballos “Back To Basico”. Label leader and CEO Mark Knight provides a thunderous tech-house remix to “Been A Long Time” and Jay Lumen also makes an appearance with his dubbed up original, “London”. My favorite pick of the album goes to Jamie K & Thee Cool Cats with their original, “One Time”. Every single second of this song is fire, taking you on an incredible, electrifying journey.
All in all, ‘This Is Toolroom 2016’ is an essential album for you to have kicking off the new year, so check it out below and grab your copy on iTunes!
