The upcoming festival season in the United States just got a little smaller. Panorama, a new New York City festival put on by Coachella owner AEG Live, has been delayed. Originally slated to take place in June a few weeks after fellow NYC festival Governor’s Ball, Panorama faced issues in securing permits and are pursuing a new date. The festival intends to take place at the Flushing Meadows Corona Park venue.
Panorama’s announcement came with music festival drama, as Governor’s Ball organizers created a petition to delay the festival, which ultimately received over 8,000 signatures. It’s unclear if the petition impacted Panorama’s delay, but it’s likely a good move that the festivals are now some time apart from each other. Given the rocky history behind defunct New York City festivals such as All Points West, Panorama’s original date would have likely cannibalized ticket sales and negatively affected both itself and Governor’s Ball.
