Ember Island has been on point all year for awesome vocal covers, and they deserve credit as well for just how many popular remixes have spawned off of their covers.
Steve Void, formerly S2V, gives us a minimalist deep house take on Ember Island’s cover of The Weeknd’s hit. Vocally, the cover is just as, if not more, emotional than the original, but as Steve starts to pitch the vocals down and layer the production this track really starts to get dark. Steve keeps the track stripped down to give it that downtempo, emotional feel that a song like “Can’t Feel My Face” really does deserve.
