After a few sneak peeks, and an exclusive premiere of our very own, the wait for Secret Recipe’s debut album is finally over. Formerly known far and wide to the bass music community as Intellitard until until a few months ago, this veteran of west coast bass music is looking to make a lasting impression with this new album to support the rebranding of his unique style of future bass. After several playthroughs, we can definitely say with a most unshakeable certainty, he has succeeded.
Long time fans of Intellitard might be a little skeptical to pick this up at first glance but rest assured the style has only improved. Everything is much darker this time around. Heavily refined and skillfully simplified in opposition of the wry silliness of Benji’s previous alias. This slight shift of styles, in conjunction with Secret’s seemingly exponential improvements in music production has giving birth to a deliciously sinister, and fantastically enjoyable style of bass music that can only be described as future glitch. Bassheads of all shapes and sizes are going to have this one on repeat for a very log time. Don’t sleep on this amazing new addition to the west coast bass culture. We can’t wait to see what’s next.
