One of Soulection‘s most active members, Jarreau Vandal, has just released the first single off his upcoming EP Suburb Superhero. With production help from Brasstracks and original vocals from Niya Wells, the track comes as an upbeat and soulful hip hop/R&B crooner. The track begins with warm, warbling rays of synth before soft cascades of horn enter the space. A short snare roll leads the swell into the first verse, where Niya Wells sings above a bouncy but simple percussion arrangement. Eventually, the elements are stripped away, leaving Wells to fend for herself in the sonic realm. The beat returns to the vibe of the initial verse, this time with newfound energy and meaning.
