Thom Yorke Suprises London’s People’s Climate March With A DJ Performance Atop A Float [Video]

Yesterday, in an effort to raise national awareness of today’s United Nations Climate Change Conference in Paris, London hosted a People’s Climate March in the streets of the city. Urging the countries involved in the conference to approach the topic with more strict and aggressive attention, the group’s supporters hoped to display their opinions on the matter in a public manner.

Unexpectedly, the march was musically hosted by none other than Radiohead’s frontman Thom Yorke. In anticipation of his upcoming Pathway to Paris performance on December 5 – aimed at promoting environmental awareness – Yorke stood atop a Greenpeace U.K. float and DJ’d to a crowd of over 50,000 climate change supporters.

Alongside Björk and Damon Albarn of the Gorillaz – who have promised a 2016 return that we are so dearly looking forward to, Yorke signed a petition, asking for a more serious approach by politicians toward curbing global warming.

Watch a short video of Yorke’s performance below.
