Setting aside its colonialist and slightly genocidal origins, Thanksgiving has become a wonderful holiday that celebrates togetherness and family values, in whatever shape or form your family chooses to gather together. It’s about giving thanks to those that have helped you throughout the year, but it’s also about giving back to the have nots.
In the spirit of the holiday, Thomas Jack and Stööki Sound are giving back in their own ways.
Firstly, Thomas Jack sponsored a canned food initiative at his Fonda Theater show last night in Los Angeles. Toys were also accepted, as TJ teamed up with L.A Charity, Union Rescue Mission, as well as Goldenvoice, for a night of tropical beats and well wishes. The toys and food will be delivered to those in need all over the city.
Tickets to Thomas Jack‘s second L.A appearance can be purchased here.
More information on the Union Rescue Mission and their initiatives can be found here.
Second, UK duo Stööki Sound is going out and buying all the food themselves and handing them out for Thanksgiving.
Stööki Sound is also on tour at the moment, performing solo shows as well as acting support for Keys N Krates on their tour. Get tickets here.
We’ve also found some choice Thanksgiving wishes from other DJ/producers. We hope everyone has had a fulfilling evening, and we wish you all the best!
Happy #Thanksgiving
