I’ve often found that music is an excellent tool for memory. In high school, I played on the football team and a staple of our football playlists – courtesy of our head coach – was “This Is How We Do It” by Montell Jordan. It was the kind of track that was universal; it was just as good for warming up as it was for celebrating a win with the team at a house party later that evening.
When Victor Niglio sent me this remix of Joe Stone’s “The Party” early last week, I got maybe 10 bars in and fell in love all over again when those first vocals roll in; then nostalgia hits 30 seconds later, you are thrown into a euphoric bounce castle of a drop that sounds like the love child of Jauz and Timmy Trumpet, a new unique signature of Niglio’s creative sound.
