Dance music infrequently makes appearances on Billboard‘s top charts (namely the Hot 100 for singles and the Top 200 for albums), but the company tracks EDM and dance tracks and albums using a number of genre-specific charts. This past week, a few milestones were reached from key players in the EDM world, specifically from the likes of ODESZA, Justin Bieber, Duke Dumont, and even Adele.
First up, ODESZA hit the top spot on the Billboard‘s Dance/Electronic Albums chart for its third nonconsecutive week. Their 2014 album In Return has remained on the chart for 63 weeks, and has appeared on the top 10 albums for a staggering 45 weeks.
Meanwhile on the Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart, two pop stars made big moves toward successful genre crossover. Justin Bieber hit number one on the chart with “What Do You Mean”, and earned his seventh Dance/Mix Show Airplay spot with the Skrillex-produced “Sorry.” Drake‘s viral single “Hotline Bling” earned a spot in the top ten songs on the chart as well. 
On the Dance Club Songs chart, Duke Dumont added a fifth number-one track to his resume with “Ocean Drive.” Remixes from the likes of Alison Wonderland and Hayden James helped launch “Ocean Drive” to the top. Adele even made a surprise appearance on the chart with her single “Hello,” benefitting from dance remixes from producers like Pink Panda.
