What is Jameston Thieves?
“Jameston Thieves is my artistic project where I channel expressive energy through multiple creative entities active in my brain.
When I am at my creative peak, I feel the flo between ideas, material and my train of thought, is controlled more so by these personalities within my head. Making me almost an observer of the experience. These ‘Brainchildren’ are the Jameston Thieves.”

I really dig the funk in “My Head,” what was it like working with Baewatch? How did the track come to be?
“Thanks! I have been URL homies with Anthony aka (‘Savage’) from Baewatch for years, going back to our early production days in the Moombahton scene.
We kept in touch over time, and earlier this year, I made a temporary move out to Colorado. Turned out Anthony lived right across town, so we linked up and wrote out the idea for ‘My Head’. From there we tossed it back and forth, ended up writing about 5 different drops for it, and here we are! Jayson and Anthony are awesome dudes, and amazing producers, so it was a pleasure to be able to make some art with them.”

Tell me about the Jameston Thieves sackboy in your artwork. He seems like a pretty devious little guy.
“Ahh yes. My character, Tako, is the representation of the first ‘thief’. He’s an interdimensional fugitive who exhibits a great degree of intellect / secret knowledge, and uses it to disobey normal rules and conventional behaviour. As I move forward with this project I’ll be unveiling the rest of the characters, and you will notice a distinct difference in all their sounds / styles / personalities, and how they interact with eachother.
I will also be writing stories to give some insight into the minds / temperament of all these entities. So stay tuned ;]”

You’ve said that Koan Sound has had an influence on your music, what’s one question you would ask them?
“Jeez, that is tough. If I had to pick one thing, I’d probably have to ask how they can be so complex, yet so digestable. I love complex productions, but there is without a doubt a line where it can become unrelatable to people who dont make music. They always have extremely detailed drums, complex bass parts, very in-depth, musically advanced melodies, and conceptual backbones to their music, yet they present it all in a way that is super digestible, and I have endless respect for that.”
