The two gentlemen hailing from Miami known as GTA have made quite an impression this year. From releasing their debut EP Death To Genres Vol. 1 to being enlisted for official remixes for Rihanna, Galantis, and Giraffage, their appears to be no slowing down the duo’s tirade as they leave their mark across music festivals and nightclubs across the world. Even in the midst of headlining their own tour with opening acts such as K Camp, Sweater Beatz, Wax Motif, and Rich The Kid, they have just dropped two new tunes on their SoundCloud that tease the soon to come second edition to their Death To Genres series.
The first track titled “Goons (Funtcantasy)”, the latest tune from GTA bangs bell clanging over hi-hats beating that are followed by a deep voice directing listeners to put their hands up and what not. But unlike some of GTA’s harder and faster creations, this song maintains a fierce appearance with cinematic horns but keeps a slow and steady rhythm. Just short of being a trap banger, “Goons (Funtcantasy)” (try saying that five times fast) is an excellent selection to hype up their upcoming Death To Genres Vol. 2 and their Goons Take America Tour.
The second song is a collaboration with big room house producer/DJ Sandro Silva. With a reggae vocal lead, the song “Hell Of A Night” goes from a passionate song about having a crazy evening and flips into a tribal, big room house banger. This song is what we can expect GTA to be playing across their tour as their go-to “everybody has to jump” song as it lures listeners with its soft-spoken lyrics and surprises them with four-to-the-floor action.
But if that song isn’t as savage or tenacious as you require for your weekend debauchery, then may I suggest checking out this free downloadable song GTA released called “Saria’s Turn Up”. If you’re a big fan of the Legend of Zelda video game series, then this song might do a little extra memory jogging for you.
