Pure Groove Sound Systems Makes Its First Permanent US Appearance

Pure Groove Systems has made a firm stance in the music world, as they have recently installed earth-shattering sound systems in legendary EDM hubs such as the Netherlands and Brazil. In 2014, they teamed up with Danley Sound Systems to create a series of microseisms for the festival and nightlife industries. This newly formed power-duo wouldn’t stop until they had the utmost respect from surrounding industry members, so they decided to enlist assistance from some of the world’s most talented producers – including Armin Van Buuren, Pete Tong, and Richie Hawtin to name a few.

Fast forward a year later, and renowned Atlanta EDM-center Opera Nightclub becomes the first American club to permanently install a Pure Groove system. After receiving a lofty 8.8/10 from DJ Mag, it was only fitting that Pure Groove would bring their earthquake machines to the United States, and just in time for a Zeds Dead ‘b2b’ GTA set as well.

Opera’s custom system features 2 SH96HO loudspeakers and 8 TH118 subwoofers, along with 2 SM80 DJ monitors.  The SH96HO paired with the TH118 sub delivers a massive, unmatched live experience, and perfectly balances the audibility of the trebles, mids, and basses. I got to experience it firsthand at the Zeds Dead and GTA bass-fest, and was absolutely mind-blown by the speakers’ sheer power and picture perfect cleanliness.

Pure Groove Systems include ground-breaking designs by audio pioneer, Tom Danley, who spent his earlier years inventing electro-acoustic solutions for NASA. In fact, he holds 17 loudspeaker patents, respectively. The Opera Nightclub is only a recent addition to a long line of fortunate recipients, as Pure Groove has installed seismic bone-shakers in revered clubs such as the De Marktkantine Nightclub in Amsterdam, and the Clash Club in Sao Paulo.

You can check out their almost-maniacal sound systems here.
