Mad Decent Releases Official Statement Concerning Boat Tragedy

Late last night at around midnight, Mad Decent released a statement to press confirming what we already knew.

A female guest “intentionally” went overboard, and rescue operations were immediately enacted. The ship used three of its own boats and notified Coast Guard, as well as other relevant authorities.

The search for the guest is ongoing.

According to the statement, the identity of the guest is known but has not been officially released.

Until the name is officially released, we will refrain from making speculations, despite wide rumors of the individual’s identity, for risk of angering or worrying unaffected parties.

Thursday, November 12 during the chartered cruise on Norwegian Pearl, a female guest was observed intentionally going overboard while the ship was sailing the Yucatan Channel.  The ship’s crew immediately initiated rescue measures, including deploying three rescue boats and notifying the Coast Guard and other relevant authorities. The search for the guest is ongoing. Both the ship and charter company teams are providing support to the family and all impacted guests during this difficult time.
