Taken from his Road Trip EP, set to release on the first of December, Chuck Sutton has just premiered his second single through Freshmoon Records just in the time for the weekend. “Good Thang” is a soulful, downtempo piece with sultry future bass elements and a complex percussion arrangement. The full EP will be available for free download upon its release, but until then you can stream “Good Thang” from the player below.
It begins with sporadic bursts of waving synths and a simple clap, before swelling upward into the break. After a short snare roll the main rhythm emerges, characterized by relentless hi hats and ethereal vocal chops thrown around the mix. The lead synth continues to pulse outward through the length of the track, as bits of percussion scatter and evolve. After a second rise, the beat returns above the warm sub bass.
