Dubai residents who crave Martin Garrix’s brand of EDM are in for a treat. The DJ has recently announced his intentions to host a special New Year’s Eve set in one of the party capitals of the middle east. Garrix will be setting up shop in the Meydan Amphitheatre, a long time go to venue for internationally renowned acts. With EDM taking on new dimensions in the region, Garrix will have the opportunity to extend the genre ever further, with a set that pulls out all the stops and provides the NYE partier with all the amenities worthy of a city known for having the crème de la crème.
NYE shows generally offer the DJ hosting to take more creative risks. After all, the crowd is going to be pumped in the run up to the new year anyway and will be that much more open to whatever’s vibrating from the speakers. Coupled with what’s to be an extraordinary fireworks display and production values surely through the roof, we’ll see how Garrix plays with this annual event and hopefully makes it his own.
