What’s better than a new collab? Answer: an old one. Regardless of how you feel about 2015 Jack Ü-era Skrillex (even though he’s still a legend), there’s no denying that 2012 Skrillex was prolific. Whenever you hear some of his earliest music, you remember why you were drawn to this music in the first place.
Skrillex, like many other major players in the music industry, traveled to Amsterdam for ADE this week and gave fans a super rare treat during one of his sets. As he narrates in this unedited rip posted by Soundcloud user “Basspug,” he found an old demo with Knife Party from 2012 that was never released. It’s incredibly clear that Skrillex isn’t pulling any punches, as this mysterious ID sounds nothing like what either act has been putting out lately.
