As a gamer, I never set too much time aside to play many racing games. Although many of my colleagues are big fans of the Forza series and I myself only dabbled in Mario Kart games, there is a huge market in the video gaming industry that revolves around competing for first place in modified, virtual vehicles. And now one of the longest running franchises in the genre is not only revamping itself completely but is also giving itself a very EDM-ified soundtrack like no other game has done before.
Although, we’ve reported that Skrillex and Yogi were going to appear on the latest Tony Hawk: Pro Skater 5, the 2015 installment of Need For Speed adds a plethora of electronic dance music from many house, drum & bass, trap, and dubstep DJs and producers. Although we do see rock and hip-hop acts such as Silversun Pickups and Run The Jewels respectively, the soundtrack’s electronic catalogue includes music from Avicii, Dirty South, Flosstradamus, Hudson Mohawke, Kill The Noise, Major Lazer, Netsky, Spor, the Chemical Brothers, Wolfgang Gartner, and Zeds Dead just to name a few. With this many acts behind the soundtrack for the new Need For Speed game, it appears that many EDM-heads can finally enjoy themselves while driving around and racing their friends in this game.
