We just recently announced Will Smith‘s return to music for the first time in 10 years with an EDM-inspired original release called “Fiesta.” And now, via a Beats Radio 1 interview with Zane Lowe, the actor, hip/hop artist and philanthropist has announced his official return to music with a “pretty certain” 2016 world tour alongside a legendary DJ.
If and when the tour does take place, Smith will be accompanied by legendary DJ Jazzy Jeff, long-time friend and collaborator, who introduced the artist to the prolific music streaming service of the internet age, the one-and-only SoundCloud.
When questioned about how he will adapt to the modern music scene, one which he has been absent from for quite some time, Will boldly stated his desire to push the boundaries despite his 47 years of age. 
“I’m from the era of 16 bars, hook, 16 bars, hook, bridge, hook, out. I’m definitely interested in pushing the envelope of spittin’—how far can you go? I’ma keep giving it a shot up until I’m 70 or 80 years old. I’m just trying to still find that voice; I have so many things that I wanna say. I’m struggling with saying ’em in a way that fit the flavor of music that I tend to like.”
He even goes on to directly discuss his overdue verse in Bomba Estéreo‘s single, “Fiesta.” Revealing how truly nervous he was to release after such a long dry-spell, and why it took him so long to get to this revival of the Will Smith music career.
“When you’ve had a certain amount of success, it seems like it should breed confidence. But it actually doesn’t. It’s the craziest thing; it’s like when you win a lot and you lose the ability to lose, you’re not allowed to lose anymore. You actually lose the ability to create; the reckless abandon. And it’s something I’m getting back from watching my kids — they really don’t care. That kind of reckless abandon and that lack of fear and not trying to protect anything and not trying to live up to a legacy or anything like that gives you freedom… Fear is the killer of creativity, man.”
