West Coast Wednesday Episode #5

Hello again Bassfamily! It’s been a fantastically rough few weeks on the road, but we are pleased to be back in action with this lovely new segment we call West Coast Wednesday. Since we left you all without any new music for a while, we’re going to try to make it up to you with a top 10 of some of our favorite west coast releases to hit the web in the past few weeks. Not only that, but we also have an epic double premiere and interview with Intellitard – now Secret Recipe, that you can check out right Here. Now then, let’s get started on these tunes. Also just a friendly reminder, all the artist names have links attached to them, so feel free to explore!

Our first track, as usual in no particular order, comes to us from Portland’s very own Tiger Fresh. We’ve been a fan of Tiger Fresh for about a year now, and can’t seem to get over his bass heavy weirdness no matter how hard we try. This time, he helps us Unlock the Swag with a new remix of popstars Rae Sremmurd, and leaves us absolutely dripping in it. This is definitely one for the weirdos, so we know you’re going to love it.

Next up is an LA artist that we just discovered about month or so ago by the name of TriadsHis most recent track, “Martin”, is filled with all kinds of heavy, gritty, neck-snappingly hard basslines alongside a distinctly future vibe that keeps us coming back to it over and over again, and we think you will too.

Next is an up and coming artist we stumbled upon in the depths of Soundcloud that has us seriously impressed. Seattle based artist Sherm Germ has a raw nuanced take on the harder, filthier, trapped out side of bass music that is sure to grab your attention. Check out two of our favorite tracks below and be sure to give this guy a follow if you’re feelin it! The dubious alias is disgustingly perfect for the style, trust us.

Now it’s time for a coast to coast collab of epic proportions. Davis local Apato joins forces with Boston’s SCRVP for a trap tune that is sure to tear your head off if you’re not careful. Epic horns, filthy synths, bone crushing 808s, this tunes got it all and then some. Enjoy.

Next is a release from one the west coasts newest and most promising labels, Shadowtrix Music. This time, On The Low hits us with a deliciously dark and high energy EP that is sure to satisfy any basshead who swoops it up. West Coast Bass music is growing fast, is this is a perfect example of what we can be look forward too. You do not want to miss out on this one.

Next up is Oaklands very own KRNE with an absolute monster of a trap tune entitled “Propane”. It might be three weeks old but this baby will be fresh well into next year. Dark eastern vibes, epic percussion and crunchy subs permeate this one, approach with caution.

Now it’s time for one of our favorite collabs to come out of the west coast in the past few weeks. “Cold” by Santa Cruz’s own G Jones and Argentina badman Dabow flexes both of these artists’ strongest traits in the filthiest way possible and we can’t get enough of it. We definitely need to hear more from these two in the future.

Next up is another equally epic collab, this time from Partywave and Dirt Monkey. I didn’t know how we didn’t see it before but these two artists totally fit perfectly together. Both of their strong eastern shanti-gangster vibes have converged on this track to create a wildly high energy banger of tune that is sure to shake many a booty this fall. Grab it while it’s hot!

We’ll keep this next one short: Ghastly’s new single “Get On This” is just f*cking bananas, and we can’t stop listening to it. Even though we totally already covered this last week in an article, this tune is of such vital importance to all you party people out there that we thought we’d hook you up again just in case you missed it.  Check out the original article here, and be sure to grab this genre-less new anthem below.

Finally, we have a wild, eccentric, and over the top mix from two of LA’s hottest rising trap music stars known as Slander. The two just released the mix they did for Pasquale Rotella on his radio show yesterday, and it is loaded with kinds of unreleased bangers that will undoubtably be making the rounds on the DJ circuit this fall. Buckle up, because this mix will definitely be taking you for a ride.

That’s all for now bassheads, see you next week!
