Duke Dumont has long been considered by many as one of house music’s most venerable producers. The Blase Boys Club head honcho really saw his career take off in 2013 with singles like the Grammy-nominated “Need U (100%)” and the chart-dominating “I Got U,” which catapulted the England native into the upper echelon of dance music artists. This summer, Dumont continued his rampage through the ranks of the dance music elite with the first single off of his Blase Boys Club Vol. 1 EP, the 80s-influenced “Ocean Drive,” and now, he’s putting his tastemaking ability on display with a special “Ocean Drive” remix package.
First up on the remix package is the emerging Sydney talent, Hayden James, who lays a luscious bed of reverb-soaked synths, dreamy melodies, and smooth guitar riffs that elevates the catchy pop croons of the original. Meanwhile the future house newcomer, Shaun Frank, intricately weaves a pulsing bass line and sped up tempo with the original to turn it into a groovy deep house jam. The “Ocean Drive” remix package is due out on Oct. 16th, so mark your calendars because this is a release you don’t want to miss.
