Tim Bergling, aka Avicii, has truly taken massive strides as an artist to get to where he is today – releasing new music that barely incorporates any dance music influence and defies any sort of genre confines.
The Swedish producer is simply making good music… Music that speaks to him and music that resounds with listeners through powerful lyrics and minimal, but top-notch production. While some might complain for want of the “old Avicii,” I can honestly opine that his evolution has left me wholly satisfied, having followed him since his early days as Tim Berg.
Avicii’s unparalleled ability to cross folk, indie and electronic influence into an amalgam of beauty is truly amazing to behold, and Stories puts all of these talents on display in stark contrast of each other for what is already turning out to be one of the best albums of 2015. beyond just electronic music. “Ten More Days,” unveiled today, is another exceptional portrayal of just how diverse Bergling has become.
