The job of a remix is to breathe new life into a track. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. When the original track is already great itself, it can be a tough act to follow. Swedish producers Nause, who ruled dancefloors with their anthem ‘The World I Know’ and its old school, funky 80’s vibe, have commissioned a couple of remixes and their choices have delivered some interesting results.
Leading the charge is UZ & Stranger, who go in the completely opposite direction and craft something more akin to US hip hop – all trap hi hats and distorted bass switches. On the other hand Samuraii, themselves also from Sweden, deliver a chill out room cut filled with airy pads and mellow beats. A change is as good as rest it seems.
