Gingee — Tinikling Riddim (Party Time Society) [Exclusive Free Download]

With artists like Dillon Francis spearheading the movement, it seems like moombahton is set to come back in a major way. While that’s exciting on its own, we’re also helping the resurgence will shed some light on moombah’s criminally underrated cousin: tropical bass (or trop bass, for short). What’s trop bass, you say? Never fear; Los Angeles low-end mistress, Gingee, is here to show you what’s good with a slew of new music hosted by the one and only Party Time Society.

Her recently released Tambol EP is an eclectic fusion of traditional Filipino sounds with more modern electronic styles like dancehall and trap; a perfect pairing in the realm of tropical bass music. Case in point is our favorite track from the release, ‘Tinikling Riddim’. A tinikling is a bamboo clapper and it’s use throughout the track adds a noticeably organic feel to the percussion section. Haunting flute melodies mesh with glitchy vocal samples and bouncy synth notes to create a addictive grove that permeates the entire tune. You can get an earful of what we mean by checking out the full stream after the jump; if you like what you hear, be sure to cop the exclusive free download and consider purchasing the full Tambol EP on Beatport or Addictech.
