Gryffin’s music is just made for the summer, and with a few more weeks to go before the official end of the best season of the year, his latest output could not have come at a more perfect time. The New York City-based producer started off the summer strong with his stand-out remix of Years & Years’ “King,” and followed it up with an even-better official remix of the UK electronic band’s “Desire.” Last month, Gryffin debuted his brand new radio show, Flight Log, and the inaugural episode featured three IDs, including a remix of Josef Salvat’s “Open Season,” from Gryffin that are finally coming to light.
On the remix, Gryffin intricately weaves together a bubbly bass line with his trademark dreamy melodies and gentle synth sequences. A diverse array of sun-soaked instruments work their way through the remix, as they elevate Josef Salvat’s emotional croons. Like a summer fling coming to an end, Gryffin’s remix of “Open Season” is beautiful, yet nostalgic – perfect for the last few weeks of summer.
