It has begun.
The official rip from BBC Radio 1 is up on Mind Of A Genius’s Soundcloud, the Zhu collaboration with AlunaGeorge, “Automatic.” Many are already calling this the next ‘Faded,’ but those who know and appreciate Zhu’s lofty goals might scoff at the thought. For Zhu, it’s not about following up a hit single with another hit single. It’s about making a product and sending a message; and right now, that message is “Holy shit.”
Light, plucky synths and an infectious rhythm carry this track along while AlunaGeorge provide their unparalleled vocals next to Zhu’s characteristic modulated voice. The real fun begins at the end when the tempo drops down and the saxophone comes in. Oh my god, that sax…
