Steve Angello Announces Album Release Date & Drops New Video

After a year with delays, a notable label switch-up, and the release of two lead singles, Steve Angello‘s first post-Swedish House Mafia album finally receives a cemented release date. Angello announced this morning that his upcoming album Wild Youth will release on November 20, 2015. The album will release on his own Size Records, and feature previously released singles “Wasted Love” featuring Dougy of The Temper Trap and “Children of the Wild” featuring MakoWild Youth marks Angello’s only second album of his solo career, following his 2003 album Traces.

To coincide with the album release announcement, Angello also released a music video for “Children of the Wild.” Far removed from the often corporate music videos of Swedish House Mafia, this video suits the theme of the single’s lyrics, depicting a young child running through scenes of violence and destruction. Directed by Guillaume Panariello, the video shockingly features no post-production work. Instead, the music video is composed entirely of .8 second-long shots recorded at a staggering 1000 frames-per-second via a rolling camera car. Given that numerous producers resort to cheap thrills for their music videos, the “Children of the Wild” video provides a much-needed breath of fresh air.
