Fresh from the underbelly of Darklight Recordings, comes Jewelz & Sparks’ latest creation, “Mental.” Originally previewed on Darklight Sessions, this filthy electro tune has every intent to pollute minds the world over.
“Mental” is certainly dark, and most definitely kinetic, sporting a fully powered kick and a collection of synths sounding as if they were dragged through a landfill. But don’t let the grungy depiction fool you, the production here is on point, and every element is crisp and precise. A menacing power tool links the breakdowns, and the track’s rushing buildups climax into hordes of devilish carnival ratchets. Seriously, they’ve got this electro thing on lockdown, and if Darklight label head Fedde Le Grand can throw seven Jewelz & Sparks tracks into his set at Ultra Music Festival, that says something…
