Chime – Escapism EP [Daily Earfood]

Escapism is the first complete release for Chime, who has recently rebranded. It doesn’t matter what he was called before, since 1) it doesn’t affect his current work and 2) his current work should define him. That may sound a bit tautological, but I assure you, it’s necessary to drive the point home.

Moving on from names and the like, this EP is actually quite a sight to behold. Only four tracks, but it shows a great diversity in production and influence from the young 21-year-old producer. Each demonstrates a side to dubstep, whether that’s more liquid, harder, or even some Skrillex-esque business.

It’s a distinctly well-rounded EP with a very solid production value. Pick it up free here if you’d like, or support the artist on Beatport and iTunes.
