As awesome as clubbing and partying can be in real life, there’s something about movie magic that gives fictional nightclubs and party spots an ethereal quality. Even the run-down, seedy clubs look like places we’d want to visit: the dingy nightclub in Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones, the club that turns into a battleground in the Tom Cruise and Jamie Foxx-led Collateral, and the classic club depicted in The Terminator.
But what happens if all those scenes took place in the same film? A new fan edit on Youtube combines those scenes and a myriad of other movie club scenes to create Hell’s Club.
The 9-minute short film is a genius example of grassroots editing, with creator AMDSFILMS pulling club scenes from dozens of movies to create a truly wretched hive of scum and villainy. Hell’s Club even follows a cohesive storyline, mining material from the films mentioned above and others such as Scarface, Blade, Pulp Fiction, and many more. The man behind AMDSFILMS, Antonio Maria Da Silva, washes each scene with red lighting, which completes the seamless effect of all the movie scenes converging together. With the soundtrack provided by the disco hit “Stayin’ Alive” by the Bee Gees, Hell’s Club transports us to a dangerous nightclub that we still can’t help but want to check out.
