Skrillex and Justin Bieber have been teasing the latter’s upcoming album, and the former’s role as producer on it, for some time now. And despite multiple publications reporting that Bieber’s latest single is one of the tracks produced by EDM DJ/producer Skrillex, his PR was able to clear the air for us regarding this matter.
“Just confirmed with Sonny himself that this is not his song.”
Even with no production or writing from the famed Sonny Moore for this particular release, the EDM influence in “What Do You Mean?” is obvious to say the least. Featuring a distinct tropical house/Kygo-esque flair with a suave R&B tempo, Bieber further portrays his intent to adopt electronic trends and make them his own with this latest song.
