Gaining another release on Never Say Die this week is revered producer MUST DIE!, who drops his Neo Tokyo EP. In what this artist is calling his favorite release to date, its four-track tracklist (plus an exclusive instrumental for Beatport customers) is richly peppered with Far Eastern influences.
The EP opens with ‘Onii-Chan’, a stunningly melodic yet turbulent cut with multiple textures. The title track comes next, with an almost pop-style singalong chorus and wild lead line. ‘Fan Service’ nearly breaks the sound stratosphere with its teetering pitch sequences, and ‘Ebi’ (Shrimp) finishes off ‘Neo Tokyo’ with bags of rhythm and depth.
