Remember Fabolous? A hit rapper of the early 2000s, the rapper has made recent headlines by being brought in to Roc Nation, the entertainment company founded by Jay Z. Enter Tampa producer and DJ Basomatik, who’s updated the classic Fabolous and Nate Dogg track “Can’t Deny It” for modern electronic music fans. A resident of Tampa club Amphitheatre Event Facility, Basomatik utilizes his years of playing for a variety of crowds to unleash a remix that has a little something for everyone.
Coming from a background of both music production and sound design, Basomatik demonstrates his ear for appealing mechanics suited for a bass house track. Basomatik retains the recognizable features from the original hip-hop anthem, but cleverly sprinkles some g-house-inspired synths and licks to draw immediate attention to the remix. As Nate Dogg’s ubiquitous vocals come in, the producer ramps up the energy to give the remix a bass house finish, complete with dirty, dubstep-esque effects and a ghetto-styled beat.
