Watch This Norwegian Festival Throw Down for a Crowd of Just 250

In a time when festivals can bring in hundreds of thousands of fans, clogging airports and stifling roadways, it’s easy to overlook the smaller events aiming to provide fans with an entertaining experience. While promoters work their damnedest to sell their show, sometimes life happens and things don’t go as they’d hoped. Norway’s Summer Fade is one such casualty, despite booking heavyweights like Dannic, Sick Individuals, John Dahlback, and more. However, what is surely a financial burden to the festival has proved to be an intimate and unforgettable experience for the festival’s patrons thus far.

Summer Fade was aiming for an attendance of 3,000, then modified their expectations to about 1,500. But when gates finally opened for Day 1, an astonishing 250 people showed up…

The Norwegian demographic is an entirely different animal when it comes to electronic music, and organizers have to put in noticeably more effort to pull off a successful event. Still, a passionate crowd of dedicated fans will travel from all over the country to make it out to shows like these. We’ll see how Summer Fade fares today as it continues with Otto Knows, CLMD, and Jay Hardway.
