TKDJS can just do no wrong. Last month, the Brooklyn-based trio of producers delivered a stunning, bassline house re-imagination of Blonde’s massive tune, “All Cried Out,” as the first installment in a trio of remixes that they had stashed away in their secret vault of dance floor scorchers – and it was absolutely superb.
Now, TKDJS have released the second remix of the three, a genre-defying rendition of Basement Jaxx’s dance pop anthem, “Never Say Never,” that expertly fuses the producers’ propensity for low-end bass with a stand-out vocal performance by Elliot Marshall, better known as the vocalist ETML. Roaring synth progressions wash over ETML’s soulful croons, while TKDJS drench the remix in a pool of swirling bass oscillations and grumbling breakdowns.
With another superb remix to their names, the TKDJS boys have proven that they are a force to be reckoned with in the bassline house arena, so keep an eye out for them as they look to continue their rise to superstardom. They’ve made their “Never Say Never” remix available as a free download, so get it here, and don’t miss out on your chance to see TKDJS in Brooklyn at The Knitting Factory on August 21st.
