Fans of the ’80s, and of the A Ha video for “Take On Me” in particular, will absolutely love this video for Chordashian’s latest track “Skyscraper Souls” with Freedom Fry.
The track itself is really quaint, with a quiet kick and a laidback bassline, letting the arpeggiated chords in the background and vocals do most of the work. Though you won’t hear this track in any clubs, it’s definitely a feel-good track that conjures ideas of kick backs and summer flings.
As for the video, blurred geometric shapes and symbols cut in and out of the center of your screen, evoking a very specific era in music video creation. It’s extremely minimalist but chaotic, giving you a more active medium to look at in juxtaposition to the chill and calm music.
