Though we don’t delve much into politics in dance music, with the presidential campaign picking up speed, we might be seeing more and more industry representatives putting their large profit margins behind candidates.
The first representative, Scooter Braun, Martin Garrix’s manager, held a fundraiser for Democratic nomination hopeful Hilary Clinton at his home last night during the GOP debate. The fundraiser was $2,700 a plate (the maximum contribution allowed under the law), was expected to draw about 200 people, and raised approximately $1 million for the candidate.
Among the attendees were Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, as well as Kris Jenner. The event, unfortunately, was not DJ’d by Garrix.
