Back at again, Kasum takes on yet another pop-punk classic after tropically flipping “Semi-Charmed Life” last month with a melodic dubstep cover of Avril Lavigne’s “Complicated” in partner. Beautifully singing Lavigne’s original lyrics in a glossier fashion, Megan Hamilton perfectly compliments the Boston-based producer’s shimmering melodies and paves smooth transition into his whipping drop.
This remix-cover proves to be a very special for Kasum as we hear him not only shredding on the guitar about midway through, but he actually debuts back-up vocals for Hamilton to add a contrasting male part to really deepen their presence. A great modern take on a throwback everyone can sing-a-long to, Kasum has officially claimed himself as the producer who takes pop-punk hits into modern day electronic territory.
