What we’ve got here is a certified revolution, friends.
Combining the already absurdly catchy styles of swing and glitch hop, Stepcat has managed to worm his way into my heart down into my feet and get me up and dancing. With an inventive bassline that follows along with the stylistically nostalgic trumpets, and a heavy, glitchy synth, Stepcat creates an atmospheric banger that doesn’t fall victim to any current trope or cliché of production.
The track seems longer than it really is, and at six minutes long, that might seem like an awful long time. But if you just forget that there’s a time limit on music, and let it go … you hardly notice it at all.
