Drug Testing At EDM Events, A Gravely Important Investigation

Australia’s 60 minutes just addressed one of the most important issues in our scene, the current lack of acceptance of drug testing at EDM festivals and club events.

Yes, drug use is heavily linked to dance music. Yes, we are addressing this again. No, we will not stop discussing this gravely important issue.

With non-profit testing organizations being forcefully evicted from United States festivals like Electric Forest and Bonnaroo, and deaths occurring at similar events left and right, it quickly becomes apparent that some sort of happy medium needs to be found. Does drug testing essentially encourage drug use? Perhaps. Still, it has the power to save lives – as this brief investigative documentary clearly reveals – and while upholding legislation is surely important, shouldn’t preserving the lives of our future generations take priority?
