Tanner Seebaum was diagnosed with a brain tumor at two years old. After a variety of surgeries and treatments over the next six years, Tanner finally entered remission. In 2012, Tanner and his family learned that the tumor had returned, only this time, inoperable and untreatable – he was given months to live. In the face of such a harrowing prognosis, Tanner worked dutifully at fulfilling multiple dreams and goals, including learning to DJ. He took up the art in June of 2012 and, through the generosity of the Denver community, was able to perform in Las Vegas at the Hard Rock Hotel during EDC Week in 2013. Tanner passed away weeks later.
A film was made chronicling his time as a DJ and fighter, called Beats4Tanner. Proceeds from the film will benefit DJ Seebaum’s non-profit Tanner Seebaum Foundation and will help fund medical research on treatment of pediatric tumors of the brain and spine.
The film has already received support from Krewella, Datsik and Downlink. Skrillex provided the music, and Diplo makes an appearance, as well.
The film will premiere its trailer at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado on July 30 and will see its world premiere during the Las Vegas Film Festival on August 13. Beats4Tanner was directed by The Mash-Up Kings and produced by Matthew and Stephanie Seebaum, as well as Landon Dykesterhouse.
