Rap and EDM go hand-in-hand, with both genres often drawing influences from each other. Mainstream rap is starting to shift towards poppy EDM beats, and in turn, electronic music has begun to embrace the rap community. Norwegian up-and-comer Henry Land has a habit of making infectious house remixes of rap songs, and his newest effort is no exception. Henry Land has just unleashed a stunning remix of Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth’s “See You Again,” and it’s everything you could ask for in a summer tune.
This remix can best be described as trop-house meets progressive meets rap. Henry Land adds some much needed energy to the track, maintaining the beautiful atmosphere of the original while adding his own flare to the mix. At times, the beat can get a little repetitive, but this isn’t the producer’s fault. Rap beats tend to lean on the repetitive side, allowing the vocals to be the main focus. Henry Land showcases his talent with this remix, crafting a beautiful piano-filled melody that brings a refreshing, but not overpowering, house vibe to this tune; simplicity reigns supreme here.
