As co-founder of the legendary label and events brand Superfreq, David Scuba has been curating cutting-edge music to introduce to the masses for over 13 years. Now with the release of his new EP Low Toro, he’s crafted his own contributions with two original tracks plus a pair of remixes by Pattern Drama and Finley.
The first track of the EP is “Everything,” a groovy house track with swelling, bouncy bass, sprinkled with stuttered vocals that play in nicely with the breakdowns. The synthesized choir fading in and out throughout the track gives it an almost haunting feeling, while the hard hitting beat is intoxicating. Following up is “No Franc,” a more minimal and percussion heavy track featuring a wallowing bassline and distorted vocal samples. Accented with the occasional acidic synth, this track is reminiscent of tracks from a different Scuba I reviewed not long ago.
The Low Toro EP is available now on Beatport. To preview the tracks, check out the stream below.
