Anyone who knows me knows that you’d have to drag me kicking and screaming to go to any tech house or techno show; yet what they might not know is that I have a deep, burning admiration for producers who can get me in without issue.
I might just have to add another producer to that short list, and he goes by Culture Prophet. Signed to the small King’s Head Records, Culture Prophet’s tunes are deep, moody and dark. This latest track off his forthcoming Incerto EP, “Evil,” harkens back to 2009-era Boys Noize. Mimimalist percussion and synth work lets the mind wander, and when listening to this tune, it goes places you might not want it to.
I don’t think I would have any problem walking into a club where Culture Prophet was playing and having an amazing time. Check out the track below, Incerto is out July 24th. You can pre-order it here.
