Frank Ocean has come to be the male equivalent of Ellie Goulding to dance music – everyone wants to remix him.
The latest creative interpretation of Frank Ocean comes as a cover rather than a remix, from none other than Major Lazer and MØ. The original swooning R&B tune is transformed into a tropical leaning tune, but not tropical house. No, it still retains a lot of its R&B swagger, with the addition of some stereotypical sounding tropical sounds, e.g., bongos, synths, rhythm.
For what it’s worth, MØ’s rendition of Frank’s vocals are oozing with sweet seduction; she absolutely nails it.
