James Blake has been wholly reticent this year when it comes to the details of his upcoming LP: Radio Silence. The ominously tranquil Englishman has been more open as of late, however, as he even previewed the title track for a lucky crowd in Tampa, Florida.
Although it is slightly concealed within an ethereal cover of Bill Withers’ “Hope She’ll Be Happier,” Blake lovers can rejoice in the unveiling of two massive collaborations on the LP. In an interview with Esquire Magazine (a la Reddit’s main hip-hop subreddit), he confirmed that Kanye West and Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon will make an appearance on the long-awaited follow up to 2013’s Overgrown.
James Blake has certainly set some lofty expectations with the incessant hype surrounding Radio Silence. It’s no surprise that Kanye West has declared Blake as his favorite artist, as the London-native has brought an airy, diverse approach to the music world. His undeniable masterworks have deservedly garnered several awards, including the highly acclaimed Mercury Prize for the UK’s album of the year.
