While he’s no Seven Lions or Adventure Club, English producer Culture Code has made huge waves in the melodic dubstep scene. He initially found a place on my radar in 2013 with his remix of Two Friends’ “Sedated,” but permanently sealed his place on my “ones to watch” list when he won Paris Blohm & Tritonal‘s “Colors” remix competition in early 2014. Since then, Culture Code has found his place on numerous labels, including Enhanced and NoCopyrightSounds.
Within the last year the aspiring producer has felt called away from the subgenre he was built on and pushed to make progressive house. Within this timespan, he released one of my favorite house releases of all time, “Waking Up,” with Regoton and vocalist Jonny Rose. His upcoming solo release “Electricity” captures everything a progressive house track should have: stunning vocals, gorgeous buildup chords and an irresistible drop melody. “Electricity” releases July 19th on NoCopyrightSounds, but we were given the honor of premiering it right here. Make sure to grab your free download when it releases this Sunday.
