Catch Jonas Aden traversing genres in his newest single, “What You Want.” It’s a refreshing tune that packs a duality of sounds, ranging from lighthearted embellishments to pounding sheet metal synths.
Aden begins with a soothing xylophone, laying the foundation for ethereal vocals to splay the track on its back for an uplifting introduction. Rather quickly, the breakdown sneaks up from the veils of a hollowed filter, and drops into an unsuspected industrial lead before melting back into a joyous breakbeat. At only three minutes, “What You Want” ends before I’m ready to let go, but we can expect more quality production from Aden in the near future.
