Chicago’s Gorilla Bass just dropped a fire remix of DVBBS’ “Always” and it is absolutely hotter than the original. Faster, sexier, and full of that future bass/jersey club influence producers can’t get enough of, this remix is the new way you will want to hear the song forever.
Being an open-format producer and DJ with several releases falling under multiple different genre-specific categories, it was interesting to hear what made Gorilla Bass connect with this song:
I loved the original vocals. The first time I heard them I instantly knew I wanted to work with them. In a world of genres and sub-genres, I am continually looking to create a sound that I can call my own. This is my main inspiration at the beginning of every empty canvas.
His previous releases are also songs you need to be listening to. His festival trap remix of Chedda Da Connect’s hood anthem “Flicka Da Wrist” features a driving synth lead and a big-room style drop that is made for the fields of your favorite festival. Chedda Da Connect’s voice coupled with the dynamic EDM trap melodies Gorilla Bass infused ensure this song is going to be played throughout the summer.
That isn’t his only huge trap remix we’ve seen, his remix of RL Grime’s “Kingpin” is also stellar. Leave it to the man who calls himself “Gorilla Bass” to somehow make the bass hit harder than the original while intertwining a gritty moombahton groove that turns the melody into an even bigger dance floor destroyer. It is a must-hear.
Taking inspiration from the techno world, GB’s mid-tempo remix of Tiga’s “Bugatti” was uniquely infused with sexy moombahton vibes perfect for the club dance floor. Hip-hop drums and snares were also added to liven the beat and breathe fresh air into a techno favorite.
